Upgraded to WordPress 2.0.1

I finally bit the bullet and upgraded the software running this site to WordPress 2.0. And then I found out that 2.0.1 had been released a few days ago. Doh! So, I upgraded again. In any case, I think everything is working, but let me know if anything is out of whack, especially if you can not read locked posts when logged in to your Friends Only account. (I had to do some "tweaking," and I think I got everyone, but I am not sure.)

Server Move Complete

A new year, a new web host… At least that's what it seems like. :-) I have decided to try out Site5 for my web-hosting, as they seem to have a pretty good reputation, along with a large number of features for a reasonable price.

The files have all been moved on to the new server, everything seems to be working. However, if you notice any irregularities, please let me know.

Trying out Feedburner

I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and try out to see if there are any benefits to using Feedburner. Let me know if you experience any difficulties with the syndication feeds. Since this is in trial phase, please continue to use http://www.subaquasternalrubs.com/feed/ as your feed URL in your feed reader, as this will forward to the current feed, wherever it happens to end up.

Edit Comments Updated

After yesterday's fun day, I spent a little bit screwing around with the Edit Comments plugin. (After finishing my Path slides, nutrition assessment, etc, of course) The following is the result:

For those comment hijackers out there, the edit comments feature has been modified. Even though it was relatively secure before (only in a few instances, i.e. on the same LAN, could people edit other people's comments), it now uses the WP login cookie to determining if you are allowed to edit a comment. Unfortunately that means that only registered users will be able to edit their comments. Therefore, I encourage anyone who posts comments somewhat regular basis to register for a login. Who knows, you may even get to read some more posts. :-)

Edit Your Comments

Since I don't have anything else to say, (posts about studying just aren't all that entertaining) I took a 10-minute study break to unveil a new site feature. It's been months since I installed a new plugin, so I thought it was about time. If you make a spelling, grammatical, or other mistake (it just didn't come out the way it sounded in your head), you can now edit your own comments for 15 minutes after you post them. (Though the edit link will disappear after 10 minutes to make sure you have enough time to complete the edit before the 15 are up.)

I hope you all enjoy the new feature and use it wisely. :-)

Wordpress 1.5.2 Upgrade

The software running this site (Wordpress) has been updated (only a month and a half late) to the most recent version for some bug and security fixes. Please let me know if you notice any irregularites.

That was a relatively useless post wasn't it? Ok, ok, so I was just seeing if everything was working ok, including the new version of Livepress, the LiveJournal synch plugin.

Now it's back to studying for an online pathology quiz tomorrow and a real physical diagnosis lab quiz on Monday.

New Theme Activated

As I was getting tired of the old one (it's been a few months), I have activated a new theme. Let me know what you think, if I forgot to add any features, or if you have any other probems… (I can only test on 1 OS and 2 browsers.)

Google Ads are Back

I took down the Google Ads because they were annoying me. However, now I have found a method so I, as well as anyone that has registered/logged in, doesn't have to look at them.

If you would like to get rid of the ads, you can register here.

Hopefully the ads will bring in a little bit of cash, or at least enough to pay for hosting this site. :-)
