Hi,
After a my mother died after medical error after medical error, I found that hospital adminstrators did not address problems, hospital policies allowed filing dates for lawsuits to melt away so the patient’s family had no recourse, and that doctors would not either admit or try to correct their errors. I doubt whether this bill will actually cause disclosure. It will only cover up the abuse patients recieve in hospitals even more.

First of all, let me offer my condolences on your mother’s passing. However, I think the reason that the hospital administrators refused to address problems was that it could indicate that there was a problem, and would be grounds for a lawsuit. That is the point of this legislation. If the threat of multi-million dollar lawsuits and instant ruin of one’s career is removed, members of the heath care team would more likely report errors so that faults in the system can be found and corrected, rather than perpetuated in silence.
