Freud = Genius??

So I am in the final stages of my studying for tomorrow's "Term 3 Exam #2," which is half Behavioral Sciences (Psych), and one half Epidemiology/Health Systems. Of course they had to mention Freud and his theories in the Behavioral section. I found some of the dream symbols he came up with interesting: (May not be appropriate for children.)
- Smooth-fronted house = Male body
- House with ledges/balconies = Female body
- Small animals = children
Ok, so far I can see that making sense. But then it just gets weird:
- Playing with children = masturbation
- Baldness/tooth extraction = castration
- Climbing stairs/ladders; driving cars; crossing bridges = sexual intercourse
And Freud is supposed to be a genius, the so-called "Father of Modern Psychology?" Hmpf, no wonder I never put much stock in this voodoo mumbo-jumbo…
(No offense to modern psychologists/psychiatrists — I am sure current methods of psychological diagnosis and treatment are much more scientifically-based than those of Victorian-era Vienna.)

Michael Jackson must be a Freud fan.
