Adulthood Sucks

Sorry for not posting in a few days, but I have been busy. Just a couple of quick posts to rest the minds at ease of those already emailing me to see if I am still alive.
I've been busy with:
- Medical school - studying and all…
- RA stuff - mostly letting maintenance into student rooms and supervising while they do their repairs
- Registering for next term
- Getting loans/financial aid squared away for next term
- Deciding if I wanted to do the RA thing Terms 5 and 6 in St. Vincent. I decided that I wanted to take a break and live off-campus with some friends, so now that has entailed:
- Looking at the St. Vincent off-campus housing lists/photos in the housing office
- Calling all the landlords
- Planning a trip to St. Vincent to view apartments/put down a deposit/sign a lease. (Yes, you really have to do it 2 terms in advance, otherwise the good places are gone.) This entailed:
- Trying to find flights that wouldn't require an overnight stay. We had originally planned to stay the weekend and do some scuba diving, but when the costs creeped upwards of $700, that was scratched, since we can dive when we are there for four months anyways.
- Booking a rental car.
Responsibility and "acting like an adult" takes so much time and effort. Why is it again that we "young adults" can't wait for this stage in our lives? Everything is all set now, and we are headed to SVD on Sunday from 7 AM - 7PM. Unfortunately, this counts as my weekend "off the island." A whole 12 hours, woo hoo!

What’s more dragging is having a family of your own. You spent less time with yourself, more with your kids. But my kids make me happy. All of us do wish to go back to the time we only have ourselves to worry about.
Thankfully, that’s still a while off… I am not the biggest fan of kids right now
