Good News

A recently received message on my phone: "Diginotice: You have reached 95% of your credit limit. Please make a payment now to avoid service interruption."

Mostly on one phone call too. Gotta love the cost of international calling. (1.30/minute from Grenada). This technology has been around for a while - you think it would be cheaper by now…

Sonja be nosy. Who you calling internationally?

Carsten Says:

Yes, you are being nosy… And a gentleman never tells :-)

Dude, can you use like a VOIP down there? That would be a bit cheaper don’t you think? (In fact i am sure you have already thought about that seeing that you can work a CSS site!)
95% or your credit limit. On oxygen for the diving or on books. Probably books ehh?

Carsten Says:

Well, VOIP is technically against the University’s contract with the local telecommunications virtual monopoly. There are a lot of people who use it down here, but they have had periods where the ports were blocked. This is the first international call I’ve made out this term, so I really haven’t looked into VOIP much. Most international calls are incoming, and they’re free (at least for me.) :-)

And don’t be too impressed with the CSS… 90% of it is the default from the blogging software.

Oh and the credit limit is only on my phone bill, not credit card. Though the books and diving do contribute quite a bit to my credit card balance. Or at least will when the dive shop makes me pay my tab, which is currently 10 months of diving…
