Sleep or lack thereof

It's almost midnight. I have to get up at 7:15 AM for class, and I like my beauty sleep.

Why am I still up?

Well, for some reason, my body doesn't like to go to sleep when it is drenched in sweat. 81 degrees according to the temperature-sensing A/C remote.

No, they still haven't come to fix my air-conditioner. When I turned in my housing contract on Friday (just in case I decide not to do the RA thing again), I spoke to the Housing Supervisor about it, and she said, "if I can't make my RA's happy, no one is going to be happy." With that she turned to call Maintenance, which is what I have been doing for weeks. Maybe she'll have more pull than me, and someone will actually show up. Maybe now that there is an error light on the unit they will be able to do something about it.

Well, I guess it's time to go and try to pharmacologically induce sleep again. :???: Oooh wait, I feel a slight bit of coolness coming from the A/C, better get to bed quick. (or I might just be hallucinating again…)

I feel… Maybe your AC has it out for you? :???: But I understand the inability to sleep when you’re that hot. To bad you couldn’t just hop down to the shore and sleep there. Haha

Carsten Says:

Nice idea, but I am kind of required to sleep in my room for my job…

nyquil or tylenol with codeine? oatmeal, bananas, or milk for more natural ways of inducing sleep  hope it gets fixed soon!!

Carsten Says:

Tylenol with codiene… But it really didn’t do the trick, so I was still up ’til 4AM.

And Nyquil? I might as well get drunk on regular alcohol - same effect, and it tastes better :-)

sonja Says:

oh yeah, and no caffeine!! (take that from an expert)

Carsten Says:

Don’t worry, my stomach can’t take the harshness of coffee. I used to be able to tolerate Dunkaccinos, but no DD anywhere close.

Talk about heat and humidity ! We spent the last 4 days and nights with a family on Yap without AC in the house. Mama and I almost had a melt-down and could not sleep ! You have our sympathy !
