New Roommates

Remember last term, when I had a gecko take up residence in my shower? Well, now I have two new roommates. Mentally retarded flies to be exact. That for the past three days have not been able to leave the safety of my room, and most often preferring to stay within a two inch radius of my face. I don't know what they like about my room so much, my air conditioner only works about 2 hours out of the day, and it's not like I stink or anything…

What I wouldn't give for my old roommate's fly-swatting gun right now. I actually got pretty good with it and could kill the flies in mid-air…

It’s not really that bad… The only creatures that I have had in my room this term are a couple of spiders (BOP insecticide did them in nicely), some mosquitoes, and a couple of flies. Not bad for getting to live in the tropics :-)

Gecko´s are cute, but flies are annoying. Are you sure it´s not because you smell? :razz: And I still don´t understand how you can shoot a fly mid-air - they´re so tiny and fast!

Yes, actually I think the fly (I am down to one now) likes my shampoo. When I was trying to take a nap this afternoon, I couldn’t get it to stop landing in my hair.

And I still don´t understand how you can shoot a fly mid-air – they´re so tiny and fast!

Lots of practice. And a big gun. :-P

One of the younger members at the ambulance corps has the license plate:

“THEMAN1″

Hence his nickname…

Plenty of flies here in Australia. People outdoors just do the ” Australian Wave” in front of their faces. I tried to kill a big spider in our bathroom last night, but he was too fast and ran back into his hole.
