World Series of Poker

After a nice dinner tonight cooked by a friend (and half a bottle of wine), I was invited to join the weekly poker tournament in Lance Aux Epines. I was a little apprehensive, as I have just played "normal 5-card poker myself, and the games were set to be Texas Hold'em. I have watched countless hours of the World Series of Poker while on duty at the ambulance station (there was really nothing else on), but I doubt that qualified me to play.
These guys were pretty experienced, and were playing for money. It ended up being a fun time with a tournament game, (top 3 winners share pot) and a "real value" game (buy chips upfront, and get back the value of your chips in cash at the end of the game). I didn't do too badly for my first time out - I ended up winning 33EC in the last game, which put me up 13 EC for the night (about US$5.20). Not enough to feed my scuba diving habit, but anything in the plus column is good!
I was invited back for the next tournament, so the regular players can win their money back off the "newbie."

hey good job
But how on earth could you watch poker on TV??? I think I´ve seen it once and held out for about 5 minutes before getting bored…maybe that´s also because I don´t know the rules that well and couldn´t really follow what was going on, but still!
Well, there aren’t many options at 2 AM…
