My Ativan for EMS Withdrawal

Well, I don't think my EMS withdrawal symptoms are quite as bad as this man's….

However, an interesting opportunity has arisen to alleviate what moderate symptoms I do have. One of the students here will be finishing her studies shortly and be returning to England. She wants to get a job in a hospital casulty department (ED) or Fire Department/EMS agency, and thus wants to do a very rapid EMT course. The CPR instructor coordinator also is an EMS instructor, and has agreed to provide didactic material (book/slides), as well as an EMT course completion certificate upon passing a final exam. Due to my previous EMS instruction experience, I am to provide a couple practical skill sessions to teach her the skills an EMT is allowed to do beyond her SJA First Aid and Sea Rescue certifications. (Which really isn't much.) Should be fun to actually do some practical stuff, and a nice (short) break from the constant book-learning.

Sounds like you are busy enough. How are classes going? We are still alive, leaving Delhi in the morning to fly to Hongkong. We will share our India impressions AFTER we leave here! Love, Papa and Mom

Well that´s good to hear! Although it would be funny to see you arrested for hijacking an ambulance just because you missed riding in one

Classes are going fine… It is still medical school after all, and we are finally getting into new material that I haven’t seen yet.

THANK GOD THAT WAS NOT ME!! YOU CAN COME BACK ANYTIME AND RIDE WITH ME, YOU KNOW THAT.

Carsten Says:

And I am sure the hijacker wishes it wasn’t you either - with your black belt and all :-) And thanks for the offer to ride - anyone want to take bets on how many hours from plane touching down to being on a rig? I think it was 10 hours last time I came home :-)
