The Gecko is Gone
Monday, August 16th, 2004 at 1:01 pm
Well, to update you all on the gecko saga, he is finally gone… He didn't leave by himself, he needed to be dragged out kicking and screaming… (or so I imagine if geckos could scream.) I ended up taking one of my tupperware containers, trapping him in it, and putting the lid on. It took me a couple of times — even without eating for two days, he was still fiesty… (or maybe it was that I have some deep pyschological fear of reptiles after an igauna almost bit my finger off when I was younger.)
Anyways, got him outside, but he just stayed where I let him out, looking at me like I was somehow abandoning him… Well, I think he will be better off, with adaquate supplies of food and water…
This morning I woke up around 6am becuase I was hot — the airconditioner had shut off, because the power was out. The power doesn't go out when there is a massive downpour and hurricane-type winds, no I goes out a day later when the weather is fine. Explain that one to me. Well unfortunately, the campus has back up generators, so I sill had to make it in to class.
Classes today were ok… mainly a review of nerve structure in Neuro, can't really remember Immuno — something about killing viruses, and starting cardiac electrophys in Physiology. We will be doing an EKG lab, but we aren't going to be taught to "read" EKG's…
(something I was looking forward to.)
The rest of the day will consist of doing some errands, doing laundry, studying, and checking to see if the power came back on. This morning there was still frost on the back of my fridge… hopefully my food is doing ok…

Glad you were successful with the gecko- he was just upset because his vacation in the Carib was over and he had to go back to
work
