Summer Science Workshop

Just got back today from Union College's Summer Science Workshop, where I worked the last two weeks as the medical director (OK, fancy word for EMT) and a counselor. It was generally fun, but these kids were extremely accident prone, and I got to know the staff at the hospital a little too well for my liking…
A tally of injuries:
1. Foot sprain.
2. Fracture of the 5th metacarpal with 60 degree angulation after hitting wall.
3. Knee sprain r/o torn ACL/unhappy triad
4. Chemical burn in the lab (silly kid took off his gloves so the outside was still outside..) :-/
5. Concussion after getting elbowed in head.
All in all, nothing serious, but the patients were all minors, hence unable to refuse transport to ED… Also, generally CYA..
Oh well, off to sleep… (Hopefully, as I did not seem to get enough EMS and I am at the ambulance again…)
